As part of the UOB-NAFA Southeast Asian Arts Forum, 'Treasures of Angkor' aims to explore themes of conflict, resilience, and reflection through a digital exploration of the UNESCO World Heritage Site - Angkor Wat.
A masterpiece of Khmer architecture, art, and engineering, Angkor Wat is rich in history, built through natural and political traumatic occurrences and eventual abandonment of the temple. This Quest in Treasures of Angkor is designed for the player to discover ‘treasures’— or tokens of historical information about the temple.
Through discovery of each treasure, the adventurer unravels a piece of history, one which is filled with narratives on war, conflict, and eventual recovery – something from the past that is ever so relevant to our present. By completing this quest, the player takes a look at the past, and hopes to add perspective to looking into the turbulent present.
