Featuring the works of three prominent practicing artists in Malaysia and introducing an emerging talent alongside, The Field Beyond presents works that focus on the painstaking labours of process and of making an art object. Stories and concepts help us to shape art in our imagination. At the same time, it is the process of making that opens the mind of both the maker and the viewer, to a ‘field’ beyond. It is the field where, as the poet Rumi once said, the ‘soul lies down’ and ‘the world is too full to talk’. And as we lay there, the ‘breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you’.
