Jamming Jogja: A Student-Led Showcase of Traditional Indonesian Performing Arts
In this session, a group of second year students from the Diploma in Theatre Programme at NAFA will present
their findings from participating in the Overseas Immersion Programme at Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta, where they
were introduced to four traditional performing art forms – dance, theatre, puppetry and gamelan ensemble music over the course
of three weeks. This showcase will take the form of a performance, accompanied by a screening of documentary materials from
their immersive learning experience, highlighting their journey of discovery, offering their interpretation of local cultures
encountered throughout this inaugural immersion programme.
