This video essay unpacks the art community's cultural actions responding to the recent escalation from Israel's genocide in Palestine. As the violence in Gaza escalate, members of the art community responded with various initiatives and activities, such as fundraising efforts, facilitating and participating in the public sphere, making art, raising awareness, and more. Responding to citizen participation in the public debate on Israel-Hamas conflict, the Singaporean government urged citizens not to let the issue affect the country's harmony or cohesion. As such, conflict-related activities conducted by the arts community are not just expressions but can be read as participation in the public sphere. Can all these range of activities be considered artful, art-like or considered as art? Are they culturally relevant and valuable? Do they have a life after the conflict, or are they simply overshadowed by yet another atrocity from another conflict?
